To see one of our Psychiatrists, you will need a referral from your healthcare provider. Additionally, if you have any relevant previous supporting documents, such as report cards, medical records or test results, it would be helpful to send them through to us before your appointment.

Ideally, during the appointment our doctors like to be able to talk to one or two people from your life who can provide background information on your current and past symptoms of ADHD, they do not need to be with you in person for the appointment. Usually what is done is they will be called for 5-10 minutes during the appointment and are just put on speaker phone for the doctor to talk to them.

At Psychiatrists Australia, we offer a streamlined approach to ADHD assessments. Unlike traditional assessments that span multiple appointments, our comprehensive assessment takes place in a single appointment. The appointment typically lasts between 2-3 hours. During this time, you will undergo various assessments, interviews, and discussions to gather a comprehensive understanding of your symptoms and needs. If you require a break during the assessment, please let the doctor know, and they will accommodate your request.

To access Psychiatrists Australia’s ADHD Assessment services, you must be located within Australia and at least 18 years old.
